How to fix dealer not working in Schedule 1

You can build your drug empire in Schedule 1 alone, but it’s best to employ as big an army of dealers as you can muster, as they will do the work for you at a very low cost. But the dealers are temperamental, sometimes outright refusing to work. If you’ve run into this sort of trouble, here’s how to make your dealers start working again and rake in the cash.

What to do if your dealer is not working in Schedule 1

While dealers in Schedule 1 can make you a lot of money, their efficacy depends largely on how you manage them. They are tools like any other, and misusing them means they’ll probably refuse to work. Here are some tips for making the dealer actually deal the stuff you gave them.

Make sure you assign the right products to right customers

When you approach a dealer like Benji, for example, make sure you assign him a set of customers and that you know what those customers actually like. While any dealer can sell any drug to any customer assigned to them, the speed and prices at which they do it vary greatly. So, if you’re assigning someone who likes Energizing drugs, you should give your dealers something like Green Crack, or anything else you’ve mixed in that has that same effect.

Customers getting sold what they don’t like will make you less money, and the dealers will take a lot longer to move the product, sometimes even holding onto it for prolonged periods.

Bag products yourself before giving them to dealers

The AI in this game isn’t the brightest, so you shouldn’t depend on it to do all the work for you. Bag any product you wish to be sold by the dealer and give them enough inventory space to prevent them from bugging out. Usually, two full stacks of bagged product at a time works best in my experience, and the product gets sold quickly, so long as you follow the above.

Don’t take orders from customers you’ve assigned to dealers

While assigning customers to a dealer generally prevents them from texting you, they’ll still sometimes do it. It might be that the dealer has run out of product entirely, and now they have to ask you for it. Simply refill the dealers’ inventories with new product and ignore the requests. If you want, you can still complete the deal for a better cut, and only then fill up the dealer’s inventory. Either way, make sure the dealer has enough to sell and that you aren’t dealing in their place.

In case of bugs: Restart, verify, or reinstall the game

Schedule 1 is an early-access title, meaning that it is sure to have many bugs and glitches everywhere. The simplest solution is to wait for a bug to be resolved, or perhaps to restart the game and verify the game files in Steam. You can perform a full reinstall if all else fails, as files might get corrupted for whatever reason, preventing the dealers from functioning correctly.
