You now have a chance to unlock several Timed Research and Special Research projects in Pokémon Go. These quests are available for a limited time and the 2024 World Championships Timed Research is available to everyone in-game, but getting it requires being out of the game.
How you unlock the 2024 Pokémon Go World Championships Timed Research differs from usual, and there are three for you to get. Usually, you have to log into the mobile game within a specific time frame to get it on your account, and then you can work through all the steps. For this one, you’ll need to ensure you have a Twitch account and watch a specific channel during a set time frame to get it. If you miss out, this Timed Research will disappear as an available reward.
Where to unlock all 2024 Pokémon Go World Championships Timed Research
Three Timed Research codes will be available throughout the event. For the first two, head over to the official Pokemon Go Twitch channel during the event, which begins at 2pm CT on Aug. 16, 17, and 18, alongside the Pokémon World Championships 2024 event.
The first Timed Research dropping on Aug. 16 honors itsAXN, the Pokémon Go Master’s Division world champion in 2023. This includes encountering a Sableye that knows Shadow Claw and Foul Play, an Elite Charged TM, and several other rewards.
The second Timed Research has to do with the Great League and appears on the second day, Aug. 17. You’ll need to choose from three teams in the Timed Research to create a worthwhile Great League matchup. The Niantic team also hints at significant changes happening for the upcoming PvP season, which we can expect to see soon.
The final Timed Research you can get in Pokémon Go for this event is celebrating the co-streamers. You’ll encounter a World Championships 2024 Pikachu and add it to your collection and several other rewards. Unlike the other two Timed Research quests, this one is available throughout the event. Again, the broadcast begins each day at 2pm CT. You’re required to watch the broadcast for a total of 30 minutes. After you’ve watched the stream for the appropriate amount of time, you’ll receive a code to redeem on the Pokémon Go Niantic Support page. To receive the Timed Research, you must log in with the correct Pokémon Go account.
