Can you get a Firework Flare Gun in Fortnite?
The Firework Flare Gun can exclusively be obtained by opening Birthday Presents in Fortnite, according to a blog posted by Epic Games. But as of the time of writing, it seems they forgot to add this item and it’s currently unobtainable.
I have opened over 10 presents and been unable to find a Firework Flare Gun, and although I thought my luck may have just been bad, many other players have reported the same issue. So far, it doesn’t seem like anyone has been able to acquire this weapon which means it’s almost certainly missing from the loot pool.
The Firework Flare Gun is supposed to sometimes appear in presents alongside the Birthday Medallion, but it’s nowhere to be seen. The Birthday Presents you’re meant to find this weapon in spawn all around the map as chest loot, floor loot, supply drop loot, and any other loot method you can think of.
This weapon can be used to light up wooden structures, according to the blog post about the birthday event. There’s a birthday quest that tasks you with revealing players by setting off fireworks with the Flare Gun, so the Firework Flare Gun seems to be a celebratory variant of the old Flare Gun weapon.
With the old Flare Gun, you could mark opponents within a 50-meter radius for 60 seconds by firing it. The shiny new birthday version is expected to function pretty similarly based on the blog information and birthday quest relating to it.
Since finding the Firework Flare Gun is essential for completing all birthday quests, this weapon will likely be added fairly soon once the devs realize it’s missing.
