How to get Surgelight Solvent in Final Fantasy XIV

When entering endgame content, crafting materials are a must-have for any Final Fantasy XIV player. For those preparing to undergo the Savage raids and more difficult dungeons, Surgelight Solvent must increase their character’s gear score rather than relying on completing dungeons each week.

Surgelight Solvent is difficult to secure, and tracking it down can be challenging if you don’t know where to look. You can only find it in one place, and regardless of your experience, it requires a lot of legwork to reach this point. Here’s what you need to know about how to get Surgelight Solvent in Final Fantasy XIV.

You can pick up Surgelight Solvent by speaking with Hhihwi, a vendor at Solution Nine. You can find Hhihwi at coordinates (X:8.7, Y:13.4) in Solution Nine, next to the vendors who exchange Tomestones. They’re the Arcadion Relic Exchange vendor, and they’ll give you Surgelight Solvent only if you can exchange four AAC Illustrated: LHW Edition III books. These books only drop from the Savage Arcadion raid, from the AAC Light-heavyweight M3 encounter in Final Fantasy XIV.

Unfortunately for gamers, unless you’re working alongside a full team of Final Fantasy XIV players who regularly attempt to complete the Savage content, you won’t be able to get these items. You’ll also need to have completed the first series of quests for the Arcadion raid, where you complete the normal versions of these encounters. After you’ve done that, speak with Gabbro at coordinates (X:22.4, Y:17.1) in Solution Nine to unlock the Savage Arcadion encounters.

Because you need four AAC Illustrated: LHW Edition III books, expect it to take four weeks to complete the Savage raids back-to-back in Final Fantasy XIV. These items only drop once weekly after clearing these encounters, and that’s only if you and your team can do it at least once a week. If you miss a week, reaching the next area will take longer, preventing you from getting Surgelight Solvent for your Final Fantasy XIV crafter.

If you use the Party Finder system in Final Fantasy XIV, you might have a chance to clear the Savage raids for the Arcadion. But this means you’ll need to do your due diligence, keep up on the latest Savage raid explainers, and know the encounter inside and out. Completing these dungeons is much easier if you’re in a voice channel, actively talking with your teammates to get these clears.
