If you’re desperate for cash in Shadows of Doubt but don’t want to risk getting shot at while breaking and entering, then you need to find a secure place to sell your goods rather than committing to a life of petty crime.
Rags to riches isn’t possible by stealing from the city folk. If you want a quick way to boost your funds that doesn’t include counting the coins in your wallet from thievery, here is where to sell items in Shadows of Doubt.
Where to sell items in Shadows of Doubt
While you can build that cash flow by solving cases and boosting your social credit, a big part of Shadows of Doubt is to sell items at the Pawn Shop or Black Market. Each city is randomly generated, but all will include the Pawn Shop and Black Market. The market is far harder to find, so it’s best to visit your local Pawn Shop by entering your Detective Notebook and checking the map (pin icon) for the shop’s location. Search for the building with a book pile as its icon, as this is the Pawn Shop.
All you need to do is go up to the cashier and interact with them. Choose the buy item option to open the Buy/Sell menu. Swap to the Sell tab and select what you want to sell. With your limited inventory, it’s best to keep hold of SyncDisks and use them immediately at the Clinic while dropping off any valuable items you’ve come by at the Pawn Shop.
Valuable items include Diamonds, Trophies, and Prop Guns. You can find these inside suspects’ or victims’ homes and office buildings. Pawn Shops aren’t open 24/7, however, so be sure to drop off any goodies at your apartment so you remember where you left them. Thankfully, dropped items won’t despawn.
Diamonds are the go-to item to sell at these vendors, but their price varies per generated map and item. You’re guaranteed, however, to be a couple of hundred credits richer by selling a single item of value at the Pawn Shop or Black Market.
You can also sell your goods inside your apartment—but this is only available to those who have upgraded their living situation. You can sell items in the Decor menu when customizing your apartment. You aren’t limited to valuable items, either. Anything you steal from breaking and entering can be sold for cash.
