Fortnite is constantly introducing exciting new collabs that add lots of fresh content to the island. Disney content certainly isn’t new to the game, but some rumors surrounding a fresh Fortnite crossover with Kingdom Hearts have been circulating in the community.
If you’re a fan of both games and are eager to know whether this crossover is actually happening, here’s everything you need to know about the rumored Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite collaboration.
Will there be a Kingdom Hearts x Fortnite collab?
We currently don’t know whether a Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite collaboration is in the works. Some prominent leaks suggest there might be a crossover happening, though, and there’s a good chance we may learn more on Aug. 10 when the Disney D23 livestream airs in Fortnite.
Rumors of a Kingdom Hearts collab began on Aug. 8 when X (formerly Twitter) user @DaRyo1989 posted that various fresh Disney content is set to be revealed during the D23 livestream, including the Kingdom Hearts announcement, a new Disney Shop in Fortnite, Gargoyles content, and Darkwing Duck content.
Although this account isn’t a prominent leaker, reputable members of the community @ShiinaBR and @HYPEX backed up this claim. These two are almost always right about leaks and the timing all seems right, so there’s certainly a solid chance we get an official announcement on Aug. 10.
Another reason this leak seems fairly likely is Epic said this livestream will include “never before seen content.” It’s certainly going to have some fresh announcements, and a Kingdom Hearts collaboration reveal could definitely be one of them.
So far, the leaks don’t say much about what this rumored Kingdom Hearts collab will include, but there is a bit of information about a potential Keyblade weapon shared by @DaRyo1989. This is believed to be a Mythic tool in Fortnite you can use to shoot fire, ice, lightning, and also to heal.
Back on Feb. 7, 2024, Disney invested in Epic and began a partnership centered around creating a Fortnite-like universe for its own IP. Disney became a partial owner of Fortnite, so it’s not too surprising that the amount of Disney content has amped up since and it also doesn’t seem unlikely that Kingdom Hearts could be one of the next big collabs.
We already know of some additional Disney content on the way with Chapter Five, season four expected to be a full-on Marvel season, and some X-Men skins that leaked as part of the v30.40 patch. The big Pirates of the Caribbean event also just ended, so it’s the perfect time to unveil what’s next and it seems like Kingdom Hearts is a great direction to take the game in next.
