Max Battles are a new form of “raids” in Pokémon Go that work around the Dynamax feature, debuting on Sept. 10.
While not much is known about the Dynamax feature or Max Battles at the start of September, many details are expected to come out in the first couple of weeks of the month. Still, even without the specifics, we already know which Pokémon will debut and feature throughout September and when they end.

As part of Pokémon Go’s Max Battle debut and the launch of the Dynamax feature, only five Pokémon are expected to appear in Max Battles throughout September.
The Kanto starters of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle can be found in these new Dynamax battles, while Galar Pokémon Wooloo and Skwovet are also available. To make these battles even more enticing, these Pokémon are all expected to be available to find as Shiny Pokémon.
This is extra enticing when you consider how both Wooloo and Skwovet’s shiny forms are debuting in-game, so it’s a great way to get yourself a new shiny Pokémon and one that can Dynamax.
We imagine from October onwards, the pool of Dynamax Max Battles available will increase to include new Pokémon. We also don’t know if Dynamax Pokémon are stuck in their base form or if evolving them also allows you to Dynamax, say, a Max Battle Charizard.
There’s a lot of details we still need to discover. But at least we know what Pokémon are available.
