With the arrival of the Adventure Week 2024 event in Pokémon Go, there are several activities you can work on while playing the mobile game. One of these activities is the Ancient Discoveries Collection Challenge where you must obtain certain Pokémon in the wild.
The Pokémon featured in this Collection Challenge should also be featured in the event, which makes them easier to find. However, they still should prove challenging, and you need to meet requirements when evolving these Pokémon for them to count. After you have them all, you’ll receive several rewards for your efforts in Pokémon Go, but you want to complete it before Adventure Week 2024 has wrapped up on Aug. 12.
All Ancient Discoveries Collection Challenge Pokémon and rewards in Pokémon Go
You only need to catch three Pokémon for the Ancient Discoveries Collection Challenge, but there are two you need to evolve. These are the two original fossil Pokémon that appeared in the Kanto region of the series, Kabuto and Omanyte. You’ll need to reach their final forms in Pokémon Go, Kabutops and Omastar, which shouldn’t be too large of a hurdle for many players. Kabuto and Omanyte came to Pokémon Go close to when the mobile game initially launched, making it far easier to have plenty of saved up candy to evolve them.
These are the Pokémon you need to catch to complete the Ancient Discoveries Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go during the Adventure Week 2024 event. Some of them are featured in the Adventure Week 2024 Timed Research quest.
Pokémon | Collection Methods |
---|---|
Aerodactyl | Catch in the wild |
Kabuto | Catch in the wild |
Kabutops | Evolve from Kabuto |
Omanyte | Catch in the wild |
Omastar | Evolve from Omanyte |
Of these five Pokémon, Aerodactyl will be the toughest to catch. Aerodactyl does appear in the wild, but only if you’re lucky, so you’ll want to explore your local area while playing Pokémon Go. Even if you spend a good amount of time walking around and playing, it does not guarantee that Aerodactyl will spawn for you. Kabutops and Omastar should be relatively straightforward after you catch Kabuto and Omanyte.
After you complete the Ancient Discoveries Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go, you’ll receive 2,500 Stardust, 25 Aerodactyl Mega Energy, and an Anorith encounter.
