The First Descendant players discover a weapon bug you used to blame your mouse for

If your weapons in The First Descendant occasionally stop shooting, you’re not the only one. While it may look like an issue with your mouse or controller—rest assured, it’s not.

In a Reddit thread on Sept. 10, The First Descendant players stated they’re experiencing a weapon “jam” bug, which sees their character stopping shooting without any apparent reason. Many have noticed this bug occurs the most when playing Bunny, but it’s seemingly not limited to her.

This bug can occur when a continuous skill effect depletes your MP, like Bunny’s Speed of Light. However, several players are reporting that they’ve encountered this bug outside of these circumstances and on different Descendants, including Gley and, in my case, Sharen.

This bug also caused several players to think there was an issue with the hardware they use to play the game. “I thought I was going mad as I had not seen this mentioned anywhere else and thought it was just my mouse,” one player wrote in the comments.

This issue has existed in The First Descendant since the game’s launch, but almost no one has brought it up until now. There are a few Reddit posts from two months ago, but none gained enough traction to spread the word.

The good news is you don’t have to worry about getting a new mouse or controller. The bad news is there’s no clear way to fix the bug, as it’s too inconsistent. It’s something Nexon will hopefully address in one of the updates.
