The First Descendant season 1 patch notes: Hailey, Invasion Dungeons, and more

Season one of The First Descendant is packed with new content, fixes, and improvements, so here’s everything you need to know about season one Update 1.1.0.

Keep in mind that The First Descendant season one content is split into two updates. The first is out on Aug. 29, and the second is coming on Oct. 10.

Everything included in The First Descendant Update 1.1.0

Hailey

Hailey Scott is the new Chill Descendant armed with a sniper rifle and damage-increasing skills. Her research materials work slightly differently compared to other characters. Each component requires 36 blueprint materials that drop from monsters in Hard Infiltration Operations and new Invasion Dungeons.

There are new main quests you can complete after finishing the main story. These quests unlock seasonal features, including the new progression system Inversion Reinforcement and Invasion Dungeons activity.

Inversion Reinforcement allows you to earn points you can then spend on passive power boosts across five categories that apply to all Descendants. Invasion Dungeons appear in two random Hard Infiltration Operations, and you can only play them solo. These dungeons have different mechanics depending on the enemy you’re facing, ranging from standing on plates to matching symbols. Clear them as fast as possible to earn maximum rewards.

As always, there’s a new battle pass featuring the Excava Ultimate weapon, head skins for Bunny, Valby, and Sharen, and a cat back attachment. Alongside the main battle pass, there’s a refreshed Battle Supply shop with free rewards.

Luna, introduced in the mid-season update during the pre-season, only had two Transcendent Modules. In update 1.1.0, you can grind for two more Transcendent Modules that focus on Luna’s buffing capabilities.

  • Singer’s Mercy: When using a skill, places a speaker and grants buffs to allies near the speaker.
  • Aggressive Melody: Changes the effects of Passionate Stage and Delightful Stage to increase Firearm Damage and Weak Point Damage.

Fixes and improvements

In addition to the new content, Nexon has been hard at work preparing a range of content improvements. There are many of them in this patch, but below, we outlined the most impactful changes.

  • Added visual queues for locating Encrypted Vaults.
  • Replaced objectives in Hard Infiltration Operations with more combat-oriented ones.
  • Increased EXP gains from Hard Infiltration Operations by 1.5 times.
  • More than doubled the amount of Void Shards dropping from Void Fragments.
  • Void Fusion Reactors now only require Void Shards to interact with the Reconstructed Device.
  • Void Fusion Reactors now only require one type of Void Shard.
  • Increased EXP gains from Special Operations by 1.5 times in Mine Blockade operations, and by two times in Resource Defense and Neutralize Experiment operations.
  • Reduced research time for Ion Accelerator, Phase Exchanger, and Adjustment Control Axis.
  • Jayber’s Turret Sync effect now applies to summoned turrets.
  • Blair’s Pitmaster skill now increases Critical Hit Rate by the number of Flame Zones (and many more improvements to his kit).
  • Increased the ratios of Ajax’s barrier-related stats when the Life Barrier and Void Barrier Modules are equipped (and there are more changes to his kit).
