If dark and spooky VALORANT skins are your thing, the latest Nocturnum collection based on dark fantasy and ritualistic transformation is for you. Here’s everything you need to know about the new exclusive skinline, from release date to price.
Featuring an intimidating theme, the Nocturnum bundle strikes a “balance between terror and beauty,” as described by product manager Laura Baltzer. The skin line also has a unique transformation mechanic featured in the finisher and melee.
Read on to learn more about the magical yet terrifying collection.
All skins, variants, and levels in VALORANT’s Nocturnum collection
The VALORANT Nocturnum skin line features skins for the following weapons:
- Phantom
- Classic
- Bulldog
- Marshal
- Melee (Scythe and Dagger)
The bundle also contains three accessories: A gun buddy, player card, and spray. You can purchase everything in the bundle individually. If you are purchasing the melee, however, we suggest getting the full bundle, as it’s more worthwhile price-wise.
The gun skins and melee feature three color variants—black, blue, and yellow—available after you unlock all levels. Here’s a description of the gun skin levels you can upgrade to:
- Level one: Custom Model
- Level two: Custom firing sounds and muzzle flash visual effects
- Level three: Custom reload animation on all weapons. Custom visual effects and audio for all actions (equip, reload, idle, and inspect).
- Level four: Custom Kill Banner (kill sound) and Finisher. After killing each player on the enemy team once, the Nocturnum ritual is fully unlocked and Noctis is summoned into your finisher, swallowing the world in darkness.
For those of you confused, the finisher transforms with every kill you secure in a round. So the finisher you get for a round in which you secured two kills is different from what you get with three kills. The full transformation with Noctis’ devouring appearance is unlocked only if you secure a kill on every enemy player in a round—basically, an Ace.
The scythe melee, at its highest level, transforms into a dagger when inspected and back to a scythe when inspected again.
Besides the transformation mechanic, the gun skins also display the ultimate icons of the enemy agents you kill. How cool is that? The texture on the guns, however, is oddly similar to what we saw in the Primordium collection.
VALORANT Nocturnum bundle price and release date
The Nocturnum collection in VALORANT costs 8,700 VP, which is around $85 USD. The gun skins cost 2,175 VP individually, while you can purchase the melee at 4,350 VP.
The bundle will be released in the store’s featured section a day after Episode Nine, Act Two begins with Patch 9.02, so mark your calendars for Aug. 29.
