Seven-star Serperior Tera Raids will be making an appearance in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet somewhere around the Paldea region. Hunt them down for your chance to catch the Gen V Grass Starter with the Mightiest Mark.
The Unrivaled Serperior Tera Raid event begins Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7pm CT and runs until Sunday, Sept. 22 at 6:59pm CT. If you happen to miss this first round, you’ll get a second opportunity the following week from Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7pm CT to Sunday, Sept. 29 at 6:59pm CT.
For these Tera Raids, Serperior will have the Grass Tera Type to power up its already strong Grass-type attacks. If you’re up for the challenge, here’s everything you need to know about Serperior and the Unrivaled Tera Raid event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How to find seven-star Serperior Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Tracking down the Serperior Tera Raids is easy, but does require a few steps:
- Make sure you’ve unlocked seven-star Tera Raids.
- Connect to the internet during the event.
- Make sure your Poké Portal News is up to date.
- Open your Paldea map and look for the black Tera Raid icon with the Grass Tera Type. Set that as your destination.
- Fly to the landmark or Pokémon Center closest to that area.
- Follow the orange flag on the mini map until you reach your destination.
- Interact with the black crystal to make sure its a seven-star Tera Raid with Serperior’s silhouette.
- You can also join group raids online by using the Tera Raid Battle Search feature in the Poké Portal. This needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
How to catch Serperior in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Obtaining Serperior in Scarlet and Violet isn’t locked behind the seven-star Unrivaled Tera Raid event, but the other options require the DLC, trading, or transferring. If you have The Indigo Disk DLC, your best bet is to find a wild Snivy in Blueberry Academy’s Savanna Biome after upgrading the Terarium and evolve it into Servine and Serperior. Outside wild encounters in the DLC, you can trade with another trainer for a Serperior or transfer one over from another game via Pokémon HOME.
Now, if you want to specifically catch Unrivaled Serperior with the Mightiest Mark, you must defeat it in the seven-star Scarlet and Violet raid. The Mightiest Mark’s exclusive to seven-star Tera Raids, so that’s a huge incentive to participate in the Unrivaled battle.
Can you catch more than one Serperior in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Unrivaled Tera Raid event?
You are limited to catching one Serperior with the Mightiest Mark from the seven-star Unrivaled Tera Raid event. Feel free to rechallenge the raid for the other rewards, but the game won’t let you catch another Serperior with that exclusive mark.
What is the best Nature for Snivy, Servine, and Serperior in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Snivy, Servine, and Serperior are typically built to be fast special attackers, so the best Natures for them would either be Modest (+ Special Attack, – Attack) or Timid (+ Speed, – Attack).
With a Modest or Timid nature, Serperior can spam powerful Leaf Storms while boosting Special Attack by two stages thanks to its Hidden Ability, Contrary. Go with Modest for higher damage, or try Timid for a better chance of outspeeding. You can combine this strategy with the Choice Specs to further boost Serperior’s Special Attack or the Choice Scarf to be extra speedy.
I like the combination of the Modest nature and Choice Scarf to give Serperior strength and speed. Once it gets set up with a few Special Attack boosts from Leaf Storm and Contrary, this Grass Starter has the potential to sweep the opposing team (unless they have some tricks of their own). You’ll have to watch out for priority moves like Ice Shard and Extreme Speed, faster Choice Scarf users, Focus Sash holders, or any ‘mons that can wall Special Grass attacks.
